Featured Project: Papworth Everard
The garden of this property was on two different levels. The rear of the garden was considerably higher than the area adjacent to the house, and the customer felt that this led to the upper level being neglected and under used.
They wanted to bring the garden together as a whole. Also, the patio next to the house, provided by the original builders was not big enough for their needs.
We started by suggesting a secondary seating area on the upper level, decking in this case, and a new patio by the house. To bring these areas together, we designed a series of steps linking them that were built using a mixture of the two materials, decking and stone.
This, together with the large size of the steps, created the feeling of terracing and space.
In addition to this we provided planting areas throughout and used similar plants to bring continuity to the scheme.
